Social Media Marketing Project
Rachel was blown away this m orning by the work of St Johns Nat 5 Administration students and Greenhillock Glamping staff. A brilliant example of Developing the Young Workforce activity; students Aimee Adams, Casey Sloane and Anna McMahon delivered training to Kate and Beth of Greenhillock so that they can use social media as an effective marketing tool. The students get the invaluable experiences of engaging with a real local business, of working to a brief, of researching, of presenting and of exploring social media as a marketing tool. Greenhillock Glamping gain CPD for their staff and a new marketing opportunity as well as getting to engage with and give back to their community.Read more

Rachel had a very insightful and interesting night at the Mix In on Thursday 15th. Run by Creative Dundee and Scottish Enterprise and hosted by Hospitalfield. This was an opportunity for local companies, individuals, and organisations to come together to learn more about cultural tourism and the potential sitting dormant in Dundee and Angus and the surrounding area.Read more

Afternoon Tea Event
This week saw DYW and Dundee and Angus College joint host an afternoon tea at the Training Restaurant within D&A College, the idea behind this was to create a passion and enthusiasm for hospitality within schools, to inform people of the career opportunities available within the Hospitality industry and to look at how to create a parity of esteem between careers within hospitality and other industries.
