The DYW Dundee & Angus Team, working with partners, are looking to launch an Apprentice Ambassador Programme across Dundee and Angus in the coming months and need your help!

The idea is to have a pool of around 40 apprentices from a variety of industry sectors, who are keen to go into local High Schools and promote the option of undertaking an apprenticeship to other young people. This will help to raise the profile and awareness of what an apprenticeship involves, the various apprenticeships that can be undertaken and what skills and experience you can learn as you undergo your training. The Ambassadors will be able to tell their own personal story about what made them choose to do an apprenticeship, what their role involves and answer any questions that pupils may have about their journey so far.

For the Apprentice Ambassadors, this is a fantastic development opportunity to improve presentation and communication skills, build confidence and work outside their comfort zone, standing them in great stead for their future careers. Prior to Ambassadors going in to schools, professional training will be provided around how to tell your own personal story and how to be confident in yourself when public speaking.

For employers, what better way to promote your company’s name and image by having some of your most talented young people represent your organisation?

We have had a fantastic response so far from a various employers in different sectors and are just building our list of potential Apprentice Ambassadors now.

We are looking for Modern Apprentices, Foundation Apprentices and Graduate Apprentices to be involved. Either current Apprentices, or those who have recently progressed after completing an apprenticeship.

If you are a potential Apprentice Ambassador or an Employer who may have some excellent employees who would be keen to be involved, then please contact the DYW Dundee & Angus Team ASAP on 01382 443409 or email Ross Paterson at ross@dywtaycities.co.uk.

We look forward to hearing from you!
