Over 200 educators and employers took part in a business breakfast, aimed at looking at how schools and employers could work together to help develop young people and close the skills gap. The event was a collaboration between Craigie High and Morgan Academy, in partnership with Dundee and Angus Chamber of Commerce and DYW Dundee and Angus.

Participants heard Joanna Mawdsley,  Learning Manager at V&A Museum of Design Dundee, give an update on the museum and what it was going to bring to the city, and the positive impact it will have on job creation locally.

This provided good food for thought for the round table discussions, where educators and employers addressed questions including what skills and abilities young people need to transition from education into the workplace, and how they could collaborate to develop these.

The morning produced a range of ideas that will be shared and actioned, and provided educators and employers with valuable insight into each other’s working lives and their experiences of working to develop young people.
