On Thursday 14 June the very first DYW D&A Recognition Event took place at Gardyne Campus, Dundee & Angus College. The event was a huge success with over 130 attendees coming along on the night to celebrate the successes of the past 18months.

 

The night kicked off with the opportunity to network, enjoy some food and view displays showing some examples of DYW activity in our schools. This was followed by the award ceremony, MC’d by Craig Nicol, DYW D&A board Chair. Our brand new DYW D&A video was also premiered on the night. The video showcased just some of the amazing partnerships which have been created with the support from the team in and around Dundee and Angus area: keep a look out for it on our website and across our social media channels very soon.

 

The list of nominees for each of the 10 categories was outstanding, and the selection panel had a very tough time narrowing these down. The winners on the night all received certificates, presented by DYW D&A board members and their representatives, and all nominees received recognition certificates, too. The final winners were:

 

The winner of the DYW D&A project based learning in school went to Tesco for their work with St Paul’s Academy.

The winner of the DYW D&A project based learning in the college went to RM Condor for their work with Dundee and Angus College

chool went to Greenhillock Glamping for their work with St John’s RC High.

The winner of the DYW D&A curriculum input in the college went to Ninja Kiwi for their work with Dundee and Angus College.

The winner of the DYW D&A Dundee school-employer partnership went to Apex City Quay Hotel & Spa and St Paul’s RC Academy.

The winner of the DYW D&A Angus school-employer partnership went to J&A Wilkie Ltd and Webster’s High School.

The winner of the DYW D&A college-employer partnership went to Mtc. Media and Dundee & Angus College.

The winner of the DYW D&A meaningful work place experience went to Overgate Centre.

The winners of the DYW D&A school’s champion are Anna McFarlane from St Paul’s for Dundee and Carolyn Joss from Carnoustie for Angus

The winner of the DYW D&A college champion is the Computing & Creative Media Dept.

The winners of the DYW D&A employer champion are Robertson Construction and Colin Kennedy, Intervention Rentals Ltd.

The winner of the DYW D&A outstanding achievement for a young person went to Bethany Greig.
