Next week on 8 August the DYW team, partners, board members and friends will be taking part in the social media campaign  #nowrongpath to highlight to all young people that there is no wrong path in getting to where you want to be.

The campaign has been devised by our DYW colleagues in Glasgow, and will use the hashtag #nowrongpath.

We want to promote the message that people in interesting jobs across Scotland may not have taken a straight, obvious or traditional path to get there. We’d like people from a variety of sectors and professions to share a snippet of their story – what they did when they left school and where they are now. We want young people to know that there are a variety of ways to get into a variety of jobs – that there is #nowrongpath.

How to get involved

Step 1 Pledge your support for the campaign and mark 8 August 2017 in your diary.

Step 2 Get others involved. Gain support from your friends and colleagues and encourage them to do the same.

Step 3 Do it! On 8 August, post a photograph of yourself holding a handwritten sign outlining your name, what you did when you left school and what you are doing now. Remember to use the hashtag #nowrongpath and tag us @DYW_DA . I’ve attached an example for you.

If you don’t use social media, you can send your photo to melissa@dywtaycities.co.uk and we’ll share on your behalf.

Thanks for your support and look forward to sending a positive and strong message to Scotland’s young people on 8th August!
