๐ฅ Hill to Grill! ๐
Recently, we brought our Hill to Grill event to Websters High School and Kinross High School, giving pupils a hands on experience of the full journey from field to fork. This event showcased the diverse career opportunities involved in the process – from wildlife management to food production, marketing, and sales.
๐ฆ Tracking & Shooting โ Led by Lantra, pupils learned about deer tracking, identification, and ethical culling to manage populations sustainably.
๐ฆ Branding & Packaging โ with Angus Council, Pupils got creative, designing their own burger branding and packaging.
๐ข Marketing โ With Morven Withers, pupils explored how to position their product, identifying target customers and the best places to sell their burgers.
๐ฐ Sales & Business โ Alan Mitchell, In this workshop, pupils learned the art of selling, understanding how to pitch their product effectively.
๐จโ๐ณ Cooking & Costing โ Led by Benjamin from Dundee and Angus College and Glenkilrie larder, pupils planned their flavours, worked out pricing, and finally cooked their own venison burgers!
The event finished with a tasting and judging session, with DYW Tay Cities Regional Lead Lesley English, Operations Manager Vicky Cosgrove, and Employment Liaison Officer Morgan McLeod sampling the final creations.
