The Ray Fernie Foundation Opportunity Grants are designed to cover small, unexpected costs that could otherwise prevent a young person from accessing life-changing opportunities. These grants can help remove barriers to employment, enabling young people to apply for jobs, attend interviews, participate in work experience, or seize other crucial opportunities.
Examples of eligible expenses include:
- Obtaining a Birth Certificate copy
- Safety equipment for work experience
- Addressing other financial barriers to employment
DYW Tay Cities is proud to administer these grants on behalf of the Ray Fernie Foundation for young people across Perth & Kinross, Dundee, and Angus.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants must be of school-leaving age (S4 upwards).
- The fund supports young people facing barriers to employment (specific barriers must be listed).
- Grants are small but impactful, making a meaningful difference in the recipient’s journey to employment.
