We are delighted to welcome Lesley English as the new Regional Lead for DYW Tay Cities! Lesley has had a busy and exciting start, getting out and about across the region to meet partners, employers, and, most importantly, the young people.
In her first two weeks, Lesley has already attended a fantastic range of events, giving her a great introduction to the work we do and the impact of employer engagement in schools.
🔨 Crieff High School Construction Day – Lesley saw firsthand how pupils explored careers in the construction industry, getting hands-on experience and insight from professionals.

🍔 Hill to Grill at Websters High School – This unique farm-to-fork experience gave students a deeper understanding of Scotland’s food and drink sector, from agriculture to hospitality.
💬 Tina McGuff Talk at Carnoustie High School – Mental health advocate Tina McGuff shared her powerful story with students, highlighting the importance of resilience and wellbeing.

🎓 Brechin High School Careers Fair – Lesley connected with young people exploring their career options and spoke with businesses showcasing opportunities in a range of industries.
🏛️ Business Insight Day at V&A Dundee – A fantastic event where students gained valuable knowledge around a career in business, with an inspiring talk from Mike Soutar.

🌲 Timber Engineering Visit – A deep dive into the world of timber engineering, we enjoyed a tour of the Timber Engineering workshop in preparation for their schools challenge.
Lesley’s first two weeks have been packed with learning, collaboration, and inspiration, and she’s already seeing the huge value of employer-led engagement in shaping young people’s futures.
We’re thrilled to have Lesley on board and look forward to the work ahead as we continue to create opportunities and pathways for young people across Tay Cities!
