Perth

Full Time Salary: £10,50 an hour

About the Role

As an apprentice butcher, you will receive both practical and theoretical training. You`ll have the chance to develop your expertise, meet new people and learn new skills in a supportive work environment. You will work towards an SCQF Level 5 (Level 2) Modern Apprenticeship in Meat & Poultry Processing and Butchery.
This is the perfect qualification wanting to come into the trade from scratch, building up skills as you progress through the qualification. Suitable for young people just leaving school or people just wanting to make a start in the industry. If you`re keen to learn and have a strong desire for progression in the workplace, you`ll make the ideal apprentice. You`ll also need to be enthusiastic, resilient and industrious in our fast-paced work environment. Each apprentice needs to show progress and be able to combine work with their education.
We are now taking applications for our apprenticeship programme starting in September 2024.

Your main responsibilities involve learning the different product specifications, the different cuts of meat and how to do these by learning to work with the knife.

Your role emphasises adherence to food safety regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental considerations within the unique context of meat processing.
