Scott Cameron

Employer Liaison Officer

Scott joined the DYW Tay Cities team as an Employer Liaison Officer in January 2023. Scott has had a varied career journey, having spent most of his working life in engineering, technical and project management roles. In 2016, following a downturn in the Energy sector, he decided to change direction completely. Motivated by his experiences as a parent, he sought opportunities to work with young people who were challenging, vulnerable or who had barriers to learning. Working with young people who were disengaged from school, he found that he was having many conversations centred around education, training and employment, that he decided to return to university after a 26 year gap to study to become a careers advisor. Still fuelled by a desire to work with young people with additional support needs, he decided to take up a role delivering a employability/transitions programme in Dundee secondary schools, before finally moving to the DYW Tay Cities team.
