On Friday morning last week, we saw the first round of DYW Apprentice Ambassador Training get underway at Michelin Training School in Dundee.

17 apprentices from a variety of industry sectors took part in what was a fun filled morning, with training being delivered by professional storytelling company Suit & Pace.

The apprentices were introduced to the skill of telling your own personal story through voice, actions and descriptive techniques and learned how to structure and plan a story to be delivered to an audience.

The session was very interactive, with plenty of laughter in the room and opportunities to create some weird and wonderful stories!

This training session was ideal preparation for the Apprentice Ambassadors who will be visiting Webster’s High School in Kirriemuir on Wednesday 16th and Thursday 17th November. They will be speaking to classes of S3 pupils about their own personal experience and the benefits of undertaking and apprenticeship, with the aim of inspiring a new generation of apprentices!

The apprentices who attended were representing the following organisations: Robertson Construction, Michelin, Dundee City Council, Angus Council, Interplex PMP, Caledonia Housing and Dundee & Angus College.

This is just the start of this exciting project so look out for more updates on how the apprentices got on when they visited Webster’s High School!
