Some of the team attended excellent event last Wednesday morning promoting the Shared Apprenticeship Scheme at Dundee and Angus College, Kingsway Campus. the event brought together partners from Angus Council, Dundee City Council and Dundee and Angus College.
The event was to launch the Shared Apprenticeship Schemes expansion into Dundee which builds on the success of the Angus Shared Apprenticeship Scheme.
The event was opened by David Martin, Chief Executive of Dundee City Council followed by Kevin Murphy, Director of Curriculum for Further Education and Skills and Director of the Shared Apprenticeship in Dundee and Angus. Kevin gave an overview of how the scheme works and the benefits for businesses working in the construction sector. A joinery Apprentice talked about his positive experience of being on the scheme, and from Employers currently involved, and about the benefits this flexible approach has had to their business! This scheme comes heavily recommended and was a really successful event.
We would encourage any employer working within the construction industry across Dundee & Angus to consider becoming involved in this scheme. The Shared Apprenticeship Team can talk you through the whole process and are in place to make things as easy as possible for employers to get involved.
