Claire from DYW had a super meeting with James and Kate from Auchlishie Eventing in Kirriemuir discussing the opportunities available for them to work with pupils from school. James is keen for his establishment to be more involved in education by providing worthwhile experiences for young people in the equine industry as well as business and marketing and land management.
Expansion at Auchlishie is imminent with the current building of a bothy/conference centre which will provide for riding club, pony club camps as well as weddings and other business events. This is on top of the livery yard, training facilities and temporary stable hire. By connecting with schools they will be able to offer work inspirational activities for any young people in a variety of land and animal orientated careers.
