Eillie Stephen is currently undertaking a Laboratory Technician Modern Apprenticeship with GSK in Montrose. Currently in her second year of a 3-year apprenticeship. Ellie’s outstanding work ethic and attitude has been recognised more widely having recently won an SQA award for ‘High Achievement & Development’ and another for “Outstanding Endeavour”. Ellie collected both awards from Dundee & Angus College at an end of year awards event and her achievement has given her an extra confidence boost as she progresses through her Modern Apprenticeship.

Creative Industries Interview

As part of the DYW Summer Sectors Campaign Rachel from the team took the chance to interview Lisa Williamson at Dundee Rep.

Dundee Rep is often taken for granted by us locals, and we can forget that we are lucky enough to have the only repertory theatre in Scotland, an internationally renowned centre of creative energy and an award winning company, on our doorsteps. Dundee Rep also have a strong educational ethos and is a regular host for practitioners learning and honing their talents, alongside their many youth theatre and community groups which play a vital role in the lives of many local people. Could you be the new DYW D&A Board Chair?

We are looking for a new Chair of the DYW D&A board.

 

Craig Nicol, our current Chair, has led the group for nearly three years, taking it from bid stage to now, where the team are in place and up and running. Due to increasing work commitments Craig is leaving the Chair role,  and we are looking for applications from individuals from the private sector with a passion for DYW to take the group forward into the next exciting phase of their development.

 

The Chair will lead the DYW D&A board who govern the regional DYW D&A team and represent DYW D&A at national level, too. The Chair champions the DYW message and acts as an ambassador for the group.

DYW Recognition Event

On Thursday 14 June the very first DYW D&A Recognition Event took place at Gardyne Campus, Dundee & Angus College. The event was a huge success with over 130 attendees coming along on the night to celebrate the successes of the past 18months.
