A group of young people from Rockwell Offsite Learning Centre visited the staff at Journeycall Ltd to learn more about the business and what they do.

This site visit included a session delivered by Laura Rhoney, Sales and Marketing Partner at The ESP Group, on soft skills such as how to communicate in a work environment, time management, how to maintain a god work ethic, and employer expectations. They were then given a tour around the Journeycall premises and where able to listen into examples of the ways the staff communicate with customers during calls. Finally, they spoke to a few staff members about the staff’s experiences in the work place and the many different aspects of their jobs.

At the end of the activity, the pupils spoke about how the jobs there were different to those they expected – it isn’t “just a call centre”.  The pupils also said that the job was something that they could see themselves doing and that they would enjoy.

Laura said “Journeycall were delighted to have the group from Rockwell in for a visit recently, the young people conducted themselves very well asking some great questions and engaged with our CEO being very open and honest about what they see in their future. Journeycall supports anything that the DYW are involved with, they are the key to accessing our future workforce and in Rockwell’s case the bridge between education and entering the world of work for these young people and it is fantastic to see this type of work happening across our region.”
